Historic Hudson Valley seeks a dynamic experienced individual who enjoys working with the public. The position will report to the Associate Director of Retail Operations and requires regular visits to Historic Hudson Valley’s properties in the Tarrytown, NY area. This interim position will begin August 2019 and end mid December 2019. There will be several weeks of overlap for training with the current Shop Manager at the beginning of the interim period and a one week overlap at the end. Responsibilities of the Interim Assistant Retail Shop Manager include: managing a satellite retail shop; developing work schedules and supervising sales staff; coordinating merchandise inventory, stock presentation and stock levels; implementation of policies and procedures; and reinforcing the retail team’s focus on product knowledge and service. From September through November there will be regular evening, weekend and holiday assignment at public events.

The successful candidate will have at least five years of supervisory and merchandising experience in a retail setting; strong communication, organization and management skills and be proficient with computer applications (e.g. Word and EXCEL) including point of sales systems (knowledge of Tessitura and/or Siriusware is a plus).
