Traffic Advisory for Sleepy Hollow

The charming village of Sleepy Hollow, with its scenic streets, historic sites,  attractions, and special events, is one of the top destinations in the country in fall. Visitors to the area can experience traffic congestion, particularly during October. Allow plenty of time to arrive at your destination and plan to arrive 30 minutes before a scheduled tour or event. Please plan to arrive on time, as we cannot guarantee accommodating you later than your admission time and we do not offer refunds for late arrivals.

The following dates are particularly busy in the village and there will be street closures to navigate:

Sleepy Hollow Haunted Block Party & Hayride
2024 Date: October 18th & 19th 5PM-11PM
Block Party begins at 5PM
*Due to road closures in Sleepy Hollow, evening visitors traveling to Twilight Village and Spirits of Sleepy Hollow from the south should plan to approach Philipsburg Manor from the north. The recommended route is to take Route 117 to Route 9 South, either from the Saw Mill Parkway or the Taconic Parkway.

Tips for Visitors

  • Plan Ahead: Check real-time traffic updates before heading out.
  • Use Public Transportation: Consider taking the Metro-North Railroad to Tarrytown or Philipse Manor, followed by a short taxi or rideshare to your destination.
  • Carpool: Share rides to reduce the number of vehicles on the road.
