The Rockefeller Legacy

John D. Rockefeller’s commitment to philanthropic giving created a lasting legacy. Rockefeller gave away more than $540 million in his lifetime, including funding toward medical research, addressing poverty in the South, and educational efforts for African Americans. His son, John D. Rockefeller, Jr. continued this tradition, including conservation efforts and preservation of historic sites.

Kykuit, the Rockefeller estate, is open but currently without power. Tours are still running, and the house and gardens are accessible. However, the art galleries, elevator, and wheelchair access are unavailable until power is restored.
