FAQs
Is photography allowed?
Photography and video recording for personal use are permitted. No tripods, monopods, or drones are allowed on the site.
How long is the Blaze experience?
Most people take about 45 minutes to walk through Blaze. Please allow about 90 minutes for your on-site experience.
Blaze is self-paced and is about a 1/2 mile walk-through. Remember to take your time and take your pictures—it’s a one-way walkthrough. There is no re-entry.
Is the event wheelchair accessible?
Blaze is handicapped accessible, as there are no stairs to negotiate through the installation. However, there are some narrow and slightly sloped brick paths and it is a walk-through experience along uneven, unpaved, soft-surface terrain, which may feature gravel or wood chips.
Handicapped parking is available, but your car must display a handicapped placard or plate.
Are there nearby dining or hotel options?
There are many excellent options for dining in the area.
There are also a wide range of hotels to choose from in the area, including Historic Hudson Valley’s Hospitality Partner, The Abbey Inn and Spa.
Can I go on a sold out night?
Sorry, but when we are sold out, we do not have any tickets at the door and we do not have a waiting list.
Is there parking at Blaze?
Yes, parking is free and on-site. You may park 30 minutes before your ticket time.
What is your weather policy?
Blaze is held rain or shine. If you elect not to attend on the night you hold tickets for, your tickets are neither refundable nor exchangeable. In poor weather, ticket holders should consult local weather forecasts for their own area and make their own determination about whether to set out for the evening’s event. Please see our full weather policy.
An event may be canceled by Historic Hudson Valley if, in its sole judgment, extreme weather or other conditions could jeopardize the safety of visitors, volunteers, and staff. Generally, rain, snow flurries, or showers would not lead us to cancel, but extremely heavy rain, thunder, and lightning, very strong wind; blizzard conditions, heavy icing, or a prediction of such conditions could force us to do so. If Historic Hudson Valley determines that conditions warrant canceling an event, we will post a message on our website and voicemail and ask local radio stations to make an announcement.
Are strollers allowed?
Strollers are permitted, but keep in mind that strollers which are particularly wide may not fit through some of the site’s more narrow passageways.
Are tickets refundable?
Tickets are exchangeable to another date/time slot if that date/time has availability, up to 48 hours in advance of your reserved time slot. There is a $2.50 per ticket exchange fee. Please see Historic Hudson Valley’s Ticket Refund and Exchange Policy for more details.
Are dogs allowed at Blaze?
Pets are not allowed at Blaze. Service dogs are welcome.
Can I get in early?
Timed ticketing helps us maintain safe hourly visitor counts. Your ticket will be ready to scan and you can enter the event at the time on your ticket.
Is photography allowed?
Photography and video recording for personal use are permitted on the grounds. No photography of any kind is permitted inside the house. Audio recording of the tours is also not permitted.
