Poetry Reading with Eileen Rockefeller
If you are looking for a way to ease into the frenetic holiday season look no further than an intimate poetry reading done by a member of one of the most iconic American families.
Eileen Rockefeller, daughter of philanthropist David Rockefeller and great-granddaughter of John D. Rockefeller, will share with readers selections from her poetry book entitled, Space Between.
This free event takes place at in the Museum Shop at the historic Philipsburg Manor in Sleepy Hollow, N.Y. The reading is scheduled for Dec. 2, 2018 at 1 p.m. and a Q&A and signing will follow.
The book Space Between centers on Ms. Rockefeller’s personal relationships with people, nature, and spirit. It has been warmly reviewed by colleagues and noted personalities for the depth and style of her poetry in these selected pieces.
Eileen Rockefeller is a philanthropist and clean energy advocate. In 1981, she founded the Institute for the Advancement of Health and helped establish the mind and body connection in health and disease. A proponent of social and emotional learning (SEL) as a vital part of education, she facilitated author Daniel Goleman’s bestseller Emotional Intelligence. In 1994, she co-founded Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL).
Rockefeller is a renowned speaker who has appeared at international venues speaking on varied topics including legacy and philanthropy.
She is a founding chair of the Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors (2000) and serves as co-founder and Vice-Chair of the Growald Family Fund with her husband (2007).
This is her second book following her acclaimed 2013 memoir, Being a Rockefeller, Becoming Myself, which delved into her life behind the scenes in one of the most prominent families in the world.
