Traffic Advisory for Sleepy Hollow
The charming village of Sleepy Hollow, with its scenic streets, historic sites, attractions, and special events, is one of the top destinations in the country in fall. Visitors to the area can experience traffic congestion, particularly during October. Allow plenty of time to arrive at your destination and plan to arrive 30 minutes before a scheduled tour or event. Please plan to arrive on time, as we cannot guarantee accommodating you later than your admission time and we do not offer refunds for late arrivals.
These weekends will be PARTICULARLY BUSY in the village and there will be street closures to navigate:
Sleepy Hollow Street Fair
2026 Date: September 20, 10am-5pm
Details: Beekman Avenue will be closed from Pocantico Street to Route 9. Allow extra time for travel. Visitors to Philipsburg Manor can approach the site from the north via Route 117 to Route 9.
Sleepy Hollow Music Festival
2026 Date: October 3, 11am-8pm
Details: There will be extra traffic in the area.
Halloween 10k
2026 Date: October 24, 9:30am- Noon
Tarrytown Halloween Parade
2026 Date: October 24, 5pm
Tips for Visitors

- Use Public Transportation: Consider taking the Metro-North Railroad to Tarrytown or Philipse Manor, followed by a short taxi or rideshare to your destination.

- Parking: Free parking is available only for our ticketed tours and events visitors 30 minutes before your ticketed time slot.
