“The location is breathtaking, the house a charming and fanciful agglomeration of styles that says a lot of Mr. Irving’s eclectic taste and single-minded pursuit of what he wanted.” —TripAdvisor Review
“Down a winding lane from Broadway traffic, Washington Irving’s home on the eastern bank of the Hudson still feels like the writer’s retreat it was meant to be. Little has changed from the 1800s…” —TripAdvisor Review
“Seeing Washington Irving’s house and learning about his life was an incredible experience! One of the best house tours I’ve ever been on.” —Google Review
“I knew Irving’s tale, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” but I didn’t realize how the author’s life fit in with New York and U.S. history. Touring his home on the Hudson River was the highlight of our visit to the Tarrytown area of NY. There’s a nice gift shop with plenty of Irving books to take home, and other family activities on the grounds.” —Google Review
“The brook was babbling, and the birds were singing in the giant sycamore trees. I could imagine Mr. Irving writing in the house. A beautiful spot in New York. At the fully stocked gift shop, I purchased a little plate of the home to remind me of my wonderful visit.” —Facebook Review
